Contact Your Local Do-Good Orgs

Most cities and counties have Rotary Clubs, churches or faith-based organizations like the Catholic Charities, and other charitable organizations that are likely mobilizing to help Texans through this difficult time. Simply Google some of these organizations to find out what they’re doing to help and how you can lend a hand.

Hop on local/neighborhood/city-specific Facebook groups or websites like Nextdoor to see how your neighbors are faring and how you can help. Many municipalities have Twitter accounts; check that out for updates and how you may be able to help your neighbors.

Contact Your Elected Reps

The offices of your Texas representatives may know the latest on power outages and efforts to help the needy. They also need to know that what’s happened to Texas this week is unacceptable and can’t happen again. Find their contact information here.
