Raise Women’s Voices at Wylie City Council

May 26, 2020, Webmaster Free
mayor's misguided directives

Wylie Mayor Eric Hogue has a long history of exclusive behavior. In his latest missive (see above photo), he proves that he’s still as misguided and offensive as ever.

We’re not letting this “public official” get away with it any more.

When: 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020
Where: Wylie Municipal Complex (300 Country Club Rd, Bldg 100, Wylie, TX 75098)
What: Protest of loathsome mayor!

So, WOW Dems (in collaboration with other area groups) is gathering before the Wylie City Council’s May 26th meeting to show the mayor that women HAVE VOICES. We invite you to join us in lining the street in front of the Wylie Municipal Complex and joining your voices with ours.

The council meeting starts at 6 p.m., so please join us outside the municipal complex no later than 5:30 p.m. We WILL be practicing responsible social distancing, so please take all preventative measures (PPE and standing 6 feet apart). Although we have to take precautions, we can still hold our protest signs high and make our voices heard – face masks and all!

Please RSVP to this event so we know how many people to expect. We have tentatively scheduled this protest to last an hour, but feel free to stay as long as you can. Bring protest signs and wear your organization’s t-shirts.

We’ll see you there!

Note: Please review the ACLU of Texas’s free speech guidelines, especially the section called “What the government can regulate.” We want to ensure a civil demonstration in which everyone gets to speak their minds in a respectful and legal manner. https://www.aclutx.org/en/know-your-rights/freedom-of-speech-right-to-protest

Print this handout and bring it with you: https://www.aclutx.org/sites/default/files/field_documents/ACLUTXKYRRighttoProtest.pdf

Keep up with us.
